Wasting time

I finally manned up and confronted my habits of procrastination - I have known for a long time that my lifestyle when it comes to work, unless I have a structured day that is enforced, I prefer to stay in bed, read a book and listen to music. No more I say! I shall be motivated, active and hard working... for as long as it lasts anyway. No! That is bad thinking - negative. I will prevail!

But yes - I have confronted my wasting time methods, and now - whilst I take a small break between philosophical texts for the MA - I have decided to show you my entire list of webcomics, one of the great reasons that I have been distracted over the past few years. But so the list doesn't take up your entire friends page I shall hide it under the cut below. The only comic not listed is[info]kakodaimon 's Talmud comics, but they too are interesting reads and have taken my time in reading.

This is a Japanese inspired comic, which gets a little weird at times with different forms of ninja and gangster, but fun.

The latest comic for me to start on, pretty good but a bit emoish at times. Sometimes very reminiscent of the Graduals that were.

http://www.accurseddragon.com/d/20081006.html
From the same writer as another of the webcomics I was reading - he started this when he finished the other, though I still hold out hope for a better ending.

http://geebasonparade.keenspot.com/d/20020522.html
LARPing comic - quite fun and tongue in cheek, and not the usual Gamer comic where the characters come alive - just a perspective on the passtime by a LARPer who reminds me very much of[info]clauded_horizon

http://devilspanties.keenspot.com/d/20011008.html
Another Jennie Breeden Webcomic - she also writes Geebas above - but this is based around her life as a webcomicartist. I can't believe that is a viable career pursuit in the US. Lucky dogs.

http://www.drunkduck.com/Life_and_Death/index.php?p=1184
The first of many drunkduck comics I read - this one has constantly come through the best out of the lot though, even though it has had a slightly annoying plot turn fairly recently. Yet with the last few comics it has returned to form.

http://www.drunkduck.com/Bad_Guy_High/index.php?p=163369
Think Charles Xavier's institute for gifted individuals, and then imagine it being run for the other side.

http://www.lfgcomic.com/page/1
Is it WoW? Is it DnD? Is it based on any single roleplay system entirely? Nobody knows - all they know is Richard is the best character.

http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0001.html
Probably one of my most reread comics, and one that all roleplayers should know.

http://www.pvponline.com/1998/05/04/mon-may-04/
A long running Webcomic, very humourous parts, with Pandas.

http://sorcery101.net/d/20050512.html
Not sure why I keep reading this - occassionally the storyline gets better, but generally weak.

http://yafgc.shipsinker.com/index.php?strip_id=1
A slightly more - ahem - adult gamer comic. Many boobs. Generally good.

http://leasticoulddo.com/comic/20030210
I think the first comic sort of sums up this one for you fairly well - apart from finding out that the main character is also a geeky dude.

http://www.drunkduck.com/Brathalla/index.php?p=277873
Brat-Halla. Imagine the Nordic gods in primary school: tada! Pretty good, but don't ask me about the time travelling storyline.

http://www.weregeek.com/2006/11/27/
Read this and you become one - honestly.

http://www.moroncounty.com/chapter1/splash.html
Probably the most juvenile webcomic I read in some ways, or at least the simplest humour.

http://www.drunkduck.com/The_Gods_of_ArrKelaan/index.php?p=332824
With this I was really dissappointed when they did away with the page turning effects, so if you decide to give this a read then please make the most of those few wonderful pages.

To be honest I haven't caught up on this one for a while - its ok though. I WILL RESIST A CATCH UP SESSION. I WILL!

http://sorethumbs.keenspot.com/d/20040308.html
Politics, geekery, and fun. What more could you ask for?

http://www.lilnyet.com/1.php
It turns out that in Soviet Russia litte red cat pets you.

http://www.lefthandedtoons.com/1/
Ok - I just started reading this one because I loved the concept.

http://www.dungeond.com/d/20060402.html
Ok - if you can't guess the parody from the title then I disown you. Really.

http://www.squidninja.com/d/20050122.html
A fun webcomica bout ninjas with animal powers. Fun!

http://www.drunkduck.com/Guts/index.php?p=385813
A Warhammer 40K based comic. Early days yet, but may turn out pretty good.

http://www.drunkduck.com/Raw_Fish/index.php?p=229965
This will be[info]islandgorilla very soon.

http://www.drunkduck.com/Charby_the_Vampirate/index.php?p=8839
When it's doing the whole cute little guy ripping unsuspecting people to shreds bit it is very good.

http://www.webcomicsnation.com/StanYan/revvvelations/series.php?view=single&ID=48085
Quote: "Imagine the future of this country where corporations have usurped control of the states; where corporate mercenary war fallout has left humanity rampant with genetic mutation; AND, where your TV remote has an on/off button, volume control, and only ONE channel? because you only NEED one channel for the craze that?s sweeping the nation: the RACE! " pretty good summary.

http://www.funnyfarmcomics.com/d/19990126.html
One of my first comics to really catch my attention - from the same writter/artist as Accursed Dragon.

http://twolumps.net/d/20040316.html
Kitties! Nuf said.

http://www.drunkduck.com/Hero_By_Night/index.php?p=101795
Awesome Marvelesque comic running from WW2 to present day. Captures the style really well, and has some very interesting ideas about storytelling.

If you've gotten this far well done.

http://www.katebeaton.com/Site/Welcome.html
History based comics - mostly one offs with no continuing storylines, but several revisited characters.

http://holybibble.net/latest.php?id=1
Both one of the best, and most irritating comics around. WHY CAN'T THEY LEARN TO UPDATE!?!

http://www.xkcd.com/1/
If you don't knw this one then you obviosuly haven't been hanging with the cool kids - also you are still vulnerable so I shall make ye lose the game. Tada!

http://www.drunkduck.com/Omega_Chase/index.php?p=323993
A brilliantly drawn and coloured comic, but yet again by a group who need to leanr that their audience need updates dammit!

http://www.drunkduck.com/Purgatory_Tower/index.php?p=138787
Another one that needs to update. The author always says sorry and changes her bit at the bottom to fool you into thinking she will start updating soon, but you find out it is lies! All lies!

http://marryme.keenspot.com/
Ok - hopelessly romantic and a little preachy, but I sort of enjoyed it when I read it the first time. No regrets.

http://www.lastblood.net/main/2006/12/25/last-blood-begins/
I got to this through Sore Thumbs and Marry Me - VERY different. Gory vamp post apocalyptic world style comic. Not exactly funny, but a good read and apparently going to be made into a film.

http://www.drunkduck.com/How_Unfortunate/index.php?p=19359
Alright - two normal, no-super-powers-what-so-ever, cops get hooked up with a task force to capture rogue Supervillains. Works very amusingly.

http://dresdencodak.com/cartoons/dc_013.htm
To be honest WTF sums up this comic at times, but still seems to entice me back time after time.

http://nopinkponies.com/d/20060207.html
Another Sorethumbs/marryme/lastblood writer comic. Slightly girly, but I stand by my convictions that it makes a good story. And it's not just for the sexy librarian type girl, honest.

http://www.smbc-comics.com/index.php?db=comics&id=1#comic
A one by one comic. Normally single frame, with cruel and unusual punchlines. Fucking hilarious if I'm honest.

http://www.rice-boy.com/see/index.html
Rice Boy - quiet and fun surreal comic.

http://www.ashfieldonline.com/d/19990125.html
And finally Ashfield - it has finished, but very good. One off comics strung together with one thing in common: Professor Ashfield. Apparently he's a real person.

If you managed to read all of that I think you will agree that that is a LOT of procrastination material.

I'm happy I got an honourable mention!

Re: Rice Boy... I actually bought my current winter coat because it looked like The One Electronic's.

You made it all the way down to Rice Boy? I'm impressed. Heh and that is a nice coat.
